The details behind Logan's "O-fish-ally-one" birthday party

I love a good theme for any party, so it was so much fun getting to plan Logan's birthday. Since we were having Logan's birthday at our house in Maine, I thought it was only fitting to do an "O-fish-ally-one" themed birthday. I reached out to a few artists on Etsy to start creating the decorations....first up was the invitation, which I think came out so cute.
I then asked another artist from Etsy to create a birthday garland with Logan's name on it, which came out great and was so much easier than me trying to make it!

I then purchased a fish garland and printed Logan's monthly photos from Costco (they ship!) and hung them with small, red clothespins. The garland framed the table where we served everything.

Next up, was planning the menu and trying to bring the fish theme to life. Here's what we served:

Appetizers:
Main Course:
  • Tri-tip sandwiches with all of the fixings
  • Brisket
  • Chicken
  • Seashell pesto pasta salad (I just used shell pasta to keep the dish in theme)
  • Fish fruit salad - we cut a watermelon in the shape of a fish and served the fruit in it's mouth and around the plate
  • Grilled veggies: peppers, onions, zucchini, and squash
  • Grilled peaches with goat cheese
Dessert courtesy of A Little Suga:
  • Smash cake for Logan (I bought this topper for it)
  • Bobber cupcakes
  • Sugar cookies in theme

I bought little flag place cards and taped them on to toothpicks so each dish had a name card, which was a fun touch to the theme and made it easy to display what everything was.

Success!
