A while ago, I did a review of different photo book companies I was testing. I am happy to report I LOVE how our two books came out! The first book I created was with Chatbooks and created a 365 book, which is one photo a day for his first year. It's really fun to see how he grew day by day. The second book I created was with Mixbook, which is Logan's first year album. This took more time than the 365 project since you can pick the theme, design, and layout of the pages. It's essentially a digital scrapbook so you can make it as elaborate as you want. Here are a couple of tips I thought made the process so much easier:
- Spend the time organizing your photos. Tyler and I use Google Photos, which organizes everything by day/time automatically.
- I created albums for each book up front, so it would make adding to them easier.
- I created a weekly calendar reminder on Saturday to pick the photos for the 365 project and 1st year album. Sometimes, I would push this off a week, but it was really easy to add the photos as I went along.
- Each month, I'd review the photos already in the book to make sure the dates and details were correct. I then didn't need to deal with this daunting task at the end.
- I waited to purchase the books until I found coupons for both companies. I saved about 50% on each book!
