Cannes Lions Festival

I took a quick work trip to Cannes, France for the annual Cannes Lions tech and advertising conference. I flew out of JFK and of course stopped in the lounge to have an Owen's Moscow Mule before boarding my flight.

I took the red eye Saturday night and thankfully slept the whole way. It was only about a 30 minute drive from the Nice airport and I got dropped off at the beach where we have a huge demo space set up. It's kind of nuts how much construction is going on all down the boardwalk. I checked in on my demo space, met the team, and then headed to my cute, little flat about a 4 minute walk from the beach. I have a little studio apartment and it has great internet and AC :) I managed to go for a stroll to grab a cappuccino and lunch before catching up on some work before heading out for a long run along the boardwalk.
Delicious cappuccino to wake me up!
This salad was soooo good....melon, prosciutto, tomato, mozzarella, olives, and pesto!
At Cannes, we had the coolest "booth" on the beach promoting YouTube and VR. Expeditions was front and center and I did lots of demos in the hot sun!

The VR team did a keynote on the main stage to talk about the future of VR and had Glen Keane, the animator from many famous Disney movies draw in TiltBrush. It was pretty amazing!
Following the presentation, we ate at a delicious restaurant and Glen drew each of us a picture of his famous Disney characters on the backs of the restaurant menus. Pretty amazing to watch him draw!
