Portland for the weekend

We headed up to Maine for the long weekend and had the BEST time :) We drove up late Wednesday night so that we could wake up in Portland. We had a few errands and appointments for the house and then ventured out on a lobster boat to go Lobstering. My dearest hubby is a bit obsessed with becoming a lobsterman, so for his birthday, I organized a little adventure to pull traps with Lucky Catch Cruises. It was a gorgeous day on the harbor and we learned a ton about the whole process. We both definitely recommend this if you're in town visiting (see here for a whole list of recommendations!) We then spent the afternoon at the house catching up on work and then had a really fun date night in Portland. We've always wanted to try Eventide Oyster Co.  and managed to get a spot (they don't take reservations). The food is really delicious and all small plates so you get to try a lot, but it's not super filling and on the more expensive side. I'd go back, but maybe just for drinks and apps. We then ventured to Home Depot (my favorite!) to stalk up on lots of supplies for the house...we have another really fun project we're going to start! On Friday, we headed up to Bar Harbor to go hiking in Acadia National Park (this deserves it's own post!). We ended up getting back on Sunday mid-day and then spent the afternoon running errands before hosting a little dinner party with friends and my aunt and uncle. We had such a great weekend and are so excited for the summer!

And of course, no trip is complete without coffee and a donut from the Cookie Jar!
