Lots Going On...

We've been quite busy this past week, hence the lack of blog posts! Here's a recap of what we've been up to:

Tyler is back at school and is in full-swing mode with school and recruiting. Rugby has picked up over the last week with practice, games, and of course, happy hour! The team traveled up to Boston to play against Harvard and played really well. I got a lovely text from him saying "honey, I got a black eye, but don't worry I'm fine." He forgot to mention that he also had a huge bruise on his leg, a bruised shoulder, and a cut across his neck....I'm secretly counting down the days until rugby is over so I don't have to worry!

Work has been busy as usual with our annual review cycle underway and end of the quarter. I also am in the process of launching a pilot program in New Orleans, which has been very challenging but extremely rewarding. I spent last week meeting with key stakeholders in the city and launching our student program over the weekend. It was a busy few days, but extremely productive! I did manage to try a couple of new restaurants, which I highly recommend if you are visiting New Orleans. The first was a restaurant called Bacchanal in the Bywater; it has amazing food and a really cool outdoor seating area fully equipped with stringing lights and tiki torches as well as live music! Here's a dark picture I took while waiting for our meal:

We also managed to grab lunch at Satsuma Cafe on Maple Street; the cafe has healthy sandwiches, salads, and fruit smoothies. It was a nice change to eat something fresh and not fried! On our last night, we headed to Port of Call on Esplande Street on the edge of the French Quarter for their burger and loaded bake potato. It was soooo delicious and definitely recommend this spot.
Who could pass up this meal?!?!
