Updates from NOLA

I have been running around like a crazy woman since I got to New Orleans. It has been absolutely amazing, but totally exhausting! I've had non-stop meetings with community leaders, non-profit organizations, city government officials, and entrepreneurs to learn more about the city and what's needed to rebuild and grow the city. These meetings have been absolutely fascinating and so eye-opening for me....I've loved every minute of it and wish I could work on projects like this full-time :)

In the non-existent free time I've had, I did manage to grab two great meals with my team: one at John Besh's August and the other at Emeril's Nola, both of which were phenomenal! Here are two pictures I took of my meal at August:
This was from the chef...I can't tell you what it is, but I can tell you it was delicious!
This was the best trout I have ever had. It was rolled in panko bread crumbs and served with soft shell crab on top. It was out of this world! Last night we headed to the Maple Leaf Bar to hear the famous Grammy winning Rebirth Brass Band play. I love brass bands and it was such a treat to hear and see Rebirth live. I literally have never seen a bar so packed, but it was definitely worth being crammed in there....The band was amazing!!!! Hope y'all are having a great week :)
