Spring Break.....sort of!

Tyler has the week off from school and decided to head to spring training in Arizona to see the Giants play and then is heading to Michigan to see his sister and her husband. I on the other hand am spending my week down in New Orleans for my annual trip for New Orleans Entrepreneurship week. I started working on New Orleans entrepreneurship outreach with my dear friend at Google over 3 years ago and have absolutely fallen in love with the work and this amazing city. This is my 6th work trip to New Orleans and I've been looking forward to it for some time. I flew out early Saturday morning with a bunch of eager spring breakers...I managed to take a picture from the plane of Manhattan (the picture doesn't do the view justice!).
My flight got in 45 minutes early, which was such a treat! I headed straight into the Idea Village office before having to get ready for the Make It Right Gala. Make It Right is Brad Pitt's nonprofit organization that's primary goal is to rebuild houses in the Lower 9th Ward that were destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. The foundation held their annual gala and Google+ helped sponsor the event and did hangouts with Brad Pitt, Drew Brees, and Eric Schmidt. Ellen DeGeneres co-hosted the night with Brad Pitt and other celebrities like Randy Jackson supported. There were several performances throughout the weekend which included Sheryl Crow, Rhianna, Seal, Kanye West, and Snoop Dog. It was quite the night! Here are some pictures recapping the night....
