Fun Fall Weekend

We had another busy weekend! Friday, we headed to a potluck dinner with Tyler's cluster, which was really nice. The international students brought signature dishes while the US students brought the booze. It was really nice to get to see everyone and just hang out. Everyone was pretty exhausted from the week and wanted to keep it low-key since everyone was planning on spending the weekend studying for midterms.

Saturday, we had our routine coffee and got caught up on email. I ran a bunch of neighborhood errands, paid bills, and wrote some notes to friends. Since I'm not a conducive study buddy, I decided to let Tyler have the apartment to himself and headed out to meet my college friends (see picture for the post) at Boat Basin for an all-you-can-eat wings and beer. We then all separated and Kara (one of my college roommates) and I grabbed drinks and appetizers with her coworkers. Meanwhile, Tyler headed to Randall's Island to play in two rugby games under the lights and had a great time. Columbia won both games and Tyler was pretty pumped!

Sunday, we woke up early...I headed to Trader Joe's to do our grocery shopping for the week and Tyler stayed home to get some studying done. We then walked to a bakery near our apartment that we've wanted to try called Silver Moon Bakery. It was very tasty! Next, I headed to a four floor art store (my dream come true) to get Christmas card ideas and Tyler headed to the library to study all day. I then met my two elementary/high school girlfriends, Kat and Alison for lunch at Cafe D' Alsace, which was delicious...I highly recommend it for brunch! We had a nice lunch and then decided to walk down to 5th Ave since it was beautiful out. After a fun-filled day, I headed home to try a few new recipes for dinner. Hope everyone had a nice weekend and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather :)
