Tokyo for a hot second!

I had to be in Tokyo last week for work to meet with a bunch of higher-ed institutions and flew out on Sunday morning and returned Thursday evening. It was a super quick trip, but I did manage to take advantage of the amazing food and had two meals that were delicious.

On my Sunday flight, I watched CBS This Morning and saw the segment they did on the "best pizza in the world," which happened to be in Tokyo. The story was about two chefs, one who started the pizza movement in Tokyo and the other who trained under the first guy. After watching the segment and seeing how delicious the pizza looked, I thought I'd give it a try. I ended up going to Pizza Studio Tamaki (PST) and ate the most delicious pizza. We had the Tamaki pizza, the Diavola, and the 5 cheese pizza. Our favorites were the Tamaki and 5 cheese and couldn't believe how light and airy the dough was. Definitely recommend making a reservation and trying this place out!

It's a tiny restaurant with only a few tables and a bar where you can watch the pizzas be made. Definitely make a reservation otherwise you'll have trouble getting seated.

The other restaurant we went to was Itamae Sushi Tokyo for tuna sushi. This place was rated #1 for tuna sushi and it was my version of food heaven. The tuna was out of this world and so was the salmon. We sat right at the sushi bar and watched everything be prepared, which was so much fun!
