Austin for the week

Tyler and I both had business trips last week to Austin; his started the Wednesday before so I joined him for the weekend to hang out in Austin. We stayed at The Domain Saturday night and really enjoyed walking around all of the stores. It reminded us of Santana Row at home with really nice stores and restaurants. On Sunday, we woke up early to visit one of Tyler's friends from his football team in college and then met my family for brunch at Eastside Tavern, which is now proudly serving Owen's. The BBQ food was unbelievable and the owner sent us out all kinds of appetizers including Tyler and Josh's favorite, "burnt ends." We spent the afternoon shopping and walking around downtown Austin before the boys had to get on the road and head to Houston. I stayed for SXSWedu and gave three talks, which were fun. There's so much interest in VR/AR for education and I really enjoyed getting to talk to educators who are incorporating these tools into their curriculum.
Tyler and I were pretty excited to try the cupcake ATM :)
Cinnamon Toast ice cream - I am totally going to try and re-create this.
Pulled pork and mac & cheese at Eastside Tavern
During the week, I grabbed really good friend chicken and mac & cheese with some of my colleagues.
From Austin, I flew to SF and had a layover in LA. It was a beautiful day in LA and this was the view from takeoff.
