Maine for President's Weekend

We drove up to Maine late Thursday night for the long weekend to hang out and get some small projects done on the house. There was an enormous amount of snow as South Portland had two huge storms roll through this past week dumping several feet of snow. We kicked off our Friday with donuts and coffee our favorite donut shop, the Cookie Jar, and then spent the day working. We then managed to run a bunch of errands to get supplies for our newly renovated bathroom and pick up stuff for our apartment. We were pretty tired from not getting a lot of sleep the night before, so decided to grab pizza and watch a movie at home.

On Saturday, I went to one of my workout classes (best addition to the Portland area!), and then we got the bathroom organized, cleaned out all of our linens and labeled everything, took inventory of the paint colors for all rooms, went through old photos and cleaned out the last stuff in the closets. It was very therapeutic! We then ran a few more errands and went and saw Hidden Figures - this was such a GREAT movie! From the movies, we headed to dinner and then of course made a pit stop for Dairy Queen and helped ourselves to some blizzards :)

On Sunday, I grabbed bagels from one of our favorite spots, finished our bathroom work, and then I headed to Michaels to get the original blue prints of the house framed - they are so, so cool! I then finished organizing all of the photos and put them into an album and we went for a nice, long walk along the beach as it was in the mid-50s and just gorgeous. Tyler and I then got our car washed and cleaned out (it really needed it) and then picked up some yummy seafood to cook at home. We had a nice dinner at home with a fire and then of course made one more pit stop to Dairy Queen before retiring for the night. It was such a nice weekend and we got caught up on lots of sleep and really enjoyed being at the house :)

 We love our new bathroom!
The linen closet is all organized
 DQ blizzards
Scratch Bakery on our walk to the beach
 Snowy Fisherman's Point
Lots of snow on House Island
Spring Point Lighthouse in the distance
The original blueprints of the house!
Just one of the many old photos I found....this was one of me and my dad's mom in the kitchen in Maine.
We picked up steamers for an appetizer to cook at home
And made pan seared scallops and grilled chicken and veggies for dinner.
And my handy husband got towel hooks installed
And hung our new shower curtain.
We ended our weekend with a cozy fire :)
