Thanksgiving 2016 Recap

We have had a great Thanksgiving week and managed to fill it up with all kinds of things. I had a week long business trip in London and flew from London Saturday morning to Maine. Unfortunately, I didn't end up arriving until 2am after I had to board the plane 3 times (the first two times the plane had engine issues). Needless to say, I was thrilled to arrive in Maine. The boys arrived mid-day on Sunday and before they got there, Tim and I had a little date and grabbed brunch, then ran some errands, started a fire in our fireplace (I can't remember the last time we had one!), and then made chili and corn bread for dinner. The boys arrived around 1pm and then we made grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup and spent the afternoon enjoying the fire and watching football.
We decided to buy a fire extinguisher just in case!
Tim had a theme song going for the lighting :)
 Our roaring fire
The turkey chili and corn bread was a perfect way to end the weekend.
I finally took my great grandmother's chair in to get re-upholstered....I'm sooo excited to see it!
We had friends over for dinner on Monday night and I made this delicious white wine and garlic chicken that was a hit with everyone.
We purchased a shed over the summer and it was installed last week. My project for Tuesday was to paint it to match the house.
We're really excited about how much space we gain with it!
My painted shed :)

The boys and our friend/neighbor Jennie raked and raked and raked leaves and we didn't even get them all picked up!
 Piles of leaves
29 bags of leaves filled and that was only half the yard.
This fall, we had all of the electricity rewired and done to code as it hadn't been since the house was built. As part of the project, I had new recessed lighting added in the living room and sun porch, which makes such a big difference!
 New light in the hallway
New paint color in the hallway....absolutlely love the color!
New chandelier and curtains in the dinning room
On Wednesday, we left Maine around lunch time and drove to Vermont to have Thanksgiving with my dad's family. It was so nice to see everyone as it had been a few years and we enjoyed delicious meals and lots of down time. Josh was the master egg collector....his caption for this one, "breast friends."
We went for a nice hike throughout the property before the big feast.

Josh and Tyler enjoyed chasing the chickens on our way back.

As Tyler described this feast, "this was one of the best meals I've had ever."

We woke up early Friday morning and headed back to NYC as I hadn't been home in 2 weeks and we need to get our Christmas decorations up!
