This week has been one of the more exciting weeks in my career as we opened the doors to Classroom, the product we've been working on for the past year. Classroom is designed to save teachers time by streamlining elements of the classroom workflow. It's super easy for teachers to create an assignment and for students to turn it in. Classroom also helps improve class communication and organization of materials as a Drive folder is created for each assignment. The press coverage and conversation happening on Twitter is simply amazing and I am incredibly fortunate to be working on such an awesome team! Here are some of the articles that ran this week:
- EdSurge: Google Classroom’s Doors Open
- EdTech K-12: Google Opens Classroom's Doors
- TechCrunch: Google Opens Classroom, Its Learning Management Tool, To All Teachers
- PC World (IDG): Google packs Classroom off to school
- Business Insider: Meet Google's Scrappy Team of Ex-Teachers Trying to Bring More Tech into Classrooms
Besides exciting things at work, we celebrated our 3 year anniversary :) We had a pizza date night on our actual anniversary and then really celebrated with a six course meal at Babbo. We have been dying to try Babbo and finally got around to it...boy did it not disappoint. The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere was perfect.
On Saturday, we celebrated our friend Bobby's 30th birthday in Queens with a surprise party. Emily, his wife, did such a great job pulling off the surprise :) Here are a few pics from the party:
