The Fourth of July is my second favorite holiday (second behind Christmas). Every year since I was born, I've spent the holiday in Maine and I can't think of anything better :) Maine is my favorite place to be and being in our home brings back such fond memories of spending the summer here with my dad; although he's not here physically, you can feel his presence. We have all of our family friends within a close proximity and we all make sure we are home for the 4th....no excuses! This year, we hung out around the house since it was a cloudy day and lounged. We then got ourselves organized and went grocery shopping for the cookout; Abby, her parents, and our friend Jackie came over. We had intended to eat outside on the patio; however, a huge thunderstorm rolled in and we were forced to eat inside. Nothing like lobster and good company on the 4th!
